Friends University’s Singing Quakers will present their annual Home Concert March 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m. and March 20 at 2 p.m. The concert is a finale to their four-day singing tour in Friendswood, San Antonio and Fort Worth, Texas.
The spring concert, Songs of the Spirit, explores different aspects of the spirit – prayerful, sorrowful and joyful – and will feature works by Brahms, Dett, Desenclos, Woo and more.
The choir will also reprise a commissioned piece “Equality is in the Air We Breathe” to the composer Gwyneth Walker. The concert will include music from the Renaissance and Romantic periods as well as concert spirituals and gospel music.
This in-person performance will take place in Sebits Auditorium in the Riney Fine Arts Center on the Friends University campus at 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, KS.
Tickets for the concert are $16 for adults and $12 for seniors and students and can be purchased at friends.edu/fineartstickets.
