The Orphuem Theater has a notable place in Wichita’s history. It opened in September of 1922 and was “dedicated to the people of Wichita to provide the best in art, music, and wholesome entertainment,” according to an ad that ran in the Eagle-Beacon. The painstakingly restored theater still provides entertainment for the people of Wichita today.
