The 66th annual Wichita Gem & Mineral Show will showcase Unbelievable Rocks, Minerals, and Fossils again this year!
The show is April 26, 27, 28, 2019 at the Cessna Activity Center, 2744 George Washington Blvd. in Wichita.
The show’s sponsors, the Wichita Gem and Mineral Society, have organized a family event with gem and mineral specimens from throughout the world.
Displays and vendors will feature colorful gem stones, fossils, agates, crystals, meteorites, beads, jewelry and lapidary materials. Gemologists will be at the show to identify gem stones.
This is a very kid-friendly event – kids will enjoy digging through the junior rockpile, seeing demos and exhibits, spinning a treasure wheel, and sorting through rock and fossil specimens they get in their grab bags.
But it’s not just for kids! Adults will enjoy it just as much.
Gem show hours are:
Friday April 26, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Saturday April 27, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday April 28 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Friday is usually Education Day with a special mineral identification program for school groups.
Every day of the event they’ll have demonstrations, shopping, kid fun, and more! This is a great, inexpensive event for the whole family.
Admission is only $5 for adults, $1 for kids ages 13-17, and kids under 12 are FREE with a paid adult admission. Scouts in uniform get in free.
