Here’s another holiday we never knew existed, but we’re happy to write in on our calendars! August 8 is National Frozen Custard Day, and there are at least a couple of good deals to be had in Wichita.
Of course, it’s only fitting that frozen custard has its day. We celebrated National Ice Cream Day and Month in July. (There is also a Frozen Yogurt Day, which is inexplicably in February. I wonder if there’s a Gelato Day?)
What’s the difference between ice cream and frozen custard? While the two frozen dairy treats are obviously very similar, frozen custard has eggs (or more eggs; specifically, more egg yolks).
Freddy’s Frozen Custard also says their custard differs from ice cream in that they use a churning process that results in a much creamier, smoother texture.
