The Greater Wichita YMCA has announced a new lower price on its kids cooking classes this summer.
They also have income-based pricing available for the cooking classes.
The Jr. Chef Academy is a 10-week hands-on cooking class for kids ages 6-12. Classes are now enrolling!
Membership to the YMCA is not required for kids to take the Jr Chef Academy cooking classes.
The classes are available at the Northwest and Downtown branches of the Wichita YMCA.
There are two levels in the Jr. Chef Academy:
Level 1 builds basic culinary skills, incorporating nutrition and fun food experiments. This Academy includes a chef hat and apron for the kids, progress reports, and a kid-prepared recipe showcase at the end of the 10-week session.
Level 2 will build on culinary skills children gained in Level 1. Kids will earn a kitchen gadget during the 10-week session. Although it is recommended that kids complete Level 1 prior to entering Level 2, it is not required.
Classes begin as early as May 6, 2019. The price is $99 per Level for members and $159 for non-members. However, non-members may also apply for income-based pricing if needed.
