The Kansas Girl Scouts are having a free summer camp open house. The whole family is invited to tour the Starwoods Outdoor Center in Clearwater, Kansas on Tuesday, May 21, and learn about all of the fun camps happening this summer.
The Starwoods Outdoor Center is the Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland’s 160-acre camp just 12 minutes southwest of Wichita.
Girl Scout camps are open to all K-12 girls.
This open house on Tuesday evening, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., will give families an opportunity to tour Camp Starwoods, meet camp staff, and learn about activities planned for this summer.
See what this property on the Chisholm Trail has to offer, including boating, kayaking, platform tents, cabins, covered wagons, astronomy, an archery range, a sports pavilion, and a 55-foot climbing and rappelling tower with a zip line that spans 900 feet across camp. (Fun!)
Plus, those who attend the open house this year will get to preview the exciting new camp addition that is currently under construction: an outdoor shooting range for older girls.
Again, Girl Scouts of Kansas Heartland camps are open to ALL K-12 girls. Bring your family to the open house, wear comfortable shoes, and get excited about the adventures awaiting you this summer!
To see what camps are planned, and to register for upcoming summer camps, go to kansasgirlscouts.org and click on “Events.” Camp scholarships are available too.
Free busing is available from the council’s headquarters, 360 Lexington Road in Wichita, to select camps at Camp Starwoods.
The open house is a FREE event and open to the public, so bring your BFF and have a fun day. Camp Starwoods is just 10 minutes southwest of Wichita.
