Friends University in Wichita will host its spring musical, The Secret Garden, this February in Sebits Auditorium. There will also be a special FREE performance for high school students at the end of January.
The musical is based on the novel of the same name by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The beloved tale features an unlikely friendship of cousins in the confines of an enchanting hidden garden.
The Marsha Norman and Lucy Simon musical is produced by special arrangement with Samuel French. Rolaine Hetherington is the stage director and Kurt Priebe as the technical director. Matthew Schloneger is the musical director and conductor.
Friends’ spring production last year was awarded second place in the National Opera Association’s division II competition.
AThe Secret Garden opens to the public Friday, February 1 at 7:30 p.m. and they’ll have a second performance Saturday, February 2 at 2 p.m.
