Friends University will host a Jazz Combo Showcase on October 11 in the Sebits Auditorium.
The Showcase will feature Dave Glenn, a former member of the Gerry Mulligan Big Band and Director of Jazz Studies at Whitman College in Washington. Glenn will perform with each of the four Friends University Jazz Combos, and guest combo, Air Traffic Jazz.
“Dave is a wonderful trombone player and composer,” said Lisa Hittle, assistant professor or music and director of the jazz program. “He will be a jazz artist-in- residence for three days, working with big bands, combos and individual students.”
The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. in Sebits Auditorium in Riney Fine Arts Building on the Friends campus at 2100 W. University Ave., Wichita, Kansas.
Tickets are only $6 for adults and $3 for students and seniors age 60+!
