The Old Town Farmer’s Market is celebrating Farmer’s Market Week this Saturday, August 11, 2012. Enjoy a free slice of watermelon while you browse the fresh local foods from market vendors. The farmer’s market always has a free make-it/take-it project for the kids, and regularly features live entertainment, cooking demonstrations, and other special activities. (I think there’s free coffee from the Spice Merchant, but I don’t know if they do it every week!)
This will be a good weekend to be in the square anyway, because the Museum of World Treasures Customer Appreciation Day is this Saturday. Admission is only $3, which is a huge discount off the regular price, and they will have lots of special activities that day.
A few blocks away, in Old Town Square, Youthville is holding a Chalk Art Festival. Kids can make their own chalk art, and over 40 artists will participate, making chalk art that will later be auctioned off to raise money for Youthville’s EAC.
Thanks to Pat R. for sharing the tip about the Farmer’s Market Week celebration!
