Johnson’s Garden Centers will hold free Intro to Home Brewing and Intro to Wine Making seminars this weekend.
Intro to Home Brewing is a seminar for beginners to learn how to brew beer at home (although experienced brewers are welcome to attend). You’ll learn what you need to know to begin brewing at home, the difference between ales and lagers, how using different yeast strains or hop varieties make a difference in the taste of the beer, and other fun facts about beer.
Johnson’s Garden Centers will also offer discounts on home-brewing supplies to help you get started. Intro to Home Brewing will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the West 13th location. Registration is required. Click here to register.
Intro to Wine Making is also a beginner’s seminar. Marty Johnson will teach you how to make wine at home. You’ll learn the techniques of wine making, get discounts on wine-making kits, and be able to taste some of Marty’s own homemade wine. Although this seminar is geared toward beginners, experienced wine makers are encouraged to attend.
