Exploration Place will host another FREE Final Friday exhibit opening this weekend that’s perfect for families.
The Bridging Art and Science Final Friday exhibit opening will be held on Friday, February 27 in the bridge area just off the main lobby. During this free, family-friendly event, visitors will see original art by 10th, 11th, and 12th graders from The Independent School’s Visual Arts program. The art pieces were all inspired by Exploration Place’s current traveling exhibit, Wildlife Rescue.
Students were asked to create meaningful wildlife art that focused on animals in their natural habitat or as a partner of society, interacting with the wild. The animal art display will serve as a visual pathway – a bridge – leading to Wildlife Rescue, an exhibit that focuses on endangered animals, the rehabilitation of animals and the people who help them.
In addition to viewing the art pieces, families will enjoy animal poems and readers’ theater pieces with animal themes, performed by about 15 students from The Independent School. Other fun, hands-on activities will be available as well. Light refreshments will be provided.
Exploration Place exhibits will not be open during this Family Final Friday event.
