RESCHEDULED for Mar. 1: Free Family Final Friday Event at Exploration Place

******

Hi there! This is an older post and may contain outdated information. For the most current information see this post: FREE Family Final Friday Event at Exploration Place

******

Because of the snow, this event has been rescheduled for Friday, March 1, 2013.

Exploration Place will hold another Bridging Art and Science Final Friday exhibit opening on February 22 Friday, March 1, 2013, in the bridge area just off the main lobby. Admission to this family art event is FREE. Light snacks will be available, and kids will make flip-books and pencil thaumatropes. (Scroll down for a video example.)

This month’s featured artists are Richard Crowson and Skyler Lovelace. Skyler uses gentle humor and an emphasis on color as ongoing themes in her work and digitally manipulate snapshots of family and friends to create heroic portraits. Richard is best known for his editorial cartoons, graphic satire and cartooning devices such as symbolism, exaggeration, analogy and caricature.

Date: Friday, February 22 March 1, 2013
Time: 5-7 p.m.
Location: Exploration Place Indoor Bridge, 300 N. McLean Blvd. Wichita, KS 67203
