Well this will make for a good Monday morning! McDonald’s is declaring March 2nd National Egg McMuffin Day – and to celebrate, participating McDonald’s locations are giving away a FREE Egg McMuffin!
The iconic Egg McMuffin was first created in early 1971 by Herb Peterson, an owner and operator in Santa Barbara, California. (Thanks, Herb! We appreciate it.)
What started as an attempt to make Eggs Benedict became a breakfast icon: the Egg McMuffin. Herb is also credited with inventing the Teflon rings to give the eggs their perfectly rounded shape—a tool that has inspired other brands around the world.
(I was just looking at these silicone egg rings the other day. So many good reviews.)
McDonald’s is celebrating by giving customers a FREE freshly-prepared Egg McMuffin at participating locations nationwide. To get yours, download the chain’s mobile app and redeem the digital coupon on March 2 — from 6 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
NOTE: Not all locations offer the same national promotions. As a result, price and participation may vary. It’s always wise to call ahead for verification in your area. We strive to keep up with “limited-time offers,” but deals may end without notice.
