With traditional door-to-door trick or treating becoming less popular, Wichita has gained some really fun new options for a safe and enjoyable Halloween experience that the kids will love and the parents will too!

Dinosaurs After Dark
Fridays and Saturdays, Sep 30th – Oct.29th

Field Station Dinosaurs | 2999 N. Rock Rd. in Derby, KS
Explore the trails of the Field Station at dark as you come across popular movie monsters and your favorite halloween characters. This experience is a spooky-not-scary, festive night of songs, activities and, of course, treats!
Admission: Back by popular demand, Field Station has brought back ‘Pay Your Age’ pricing with a $12 maximum for non-members and a $10 maximum for members.
Pumpkins in the Park

Tanganyika Wildlife Park, 1000 S. Hawkins Lane, Goddard
Tanganika’s Pumpkins at the Park appears to be Wichita’s largest Halloween event with 15 treat stations, tons of large blow ups for photo opps, ghoulish games with prizes, and creepy crafts. The fun doesn’t stop there! Kids can also jump on inflatables, pick from the ‘pumpkin patch’ (extra cost), and kids of all ages can interact with creepy crawlers such as snakes and lizards. The park hasn’t forgotten about the older crowd with several teen activities and brews & ‘potions’ for the adults.

Jack O’Lantern-Spectacular
October 12-15

Botanica Wichita, 701 Amidon St, Wichita, KS 67203
Visit Botanica for 4 fun-filled nights where the gardens have been transformed to an autumn spectacular. Find more than 1,000 unique pumpkins lit up for everyone to see carved by volunteer groups in the Wichita community. Also included in the spectacle are pumpkin sculptures, aerial acrobatics and fire dancing performances. There will also be a petting zoo and fire pits set up for s’mores! If you dare, wander through the Haunted Woodland Walk (not suitable for small children). This Wichita garden hasn’t forgotten about the adults in the group with music by DJ Carbon on the Grand Lawn stage and several cash bar locations. Local food trucks will also be on-site in the Grand Lawn.
Hay, Hooves and Halloween
October 22nd and 23rd
Old Cowtown Museum, 1865 W. Museum Blvd.
Cowtown is the perfect backdrop for a spooky Halloween experience for the whole family! Kids will shriek in excitement as the Headless Horseman rides the streets, zombie cowboys do a sundown shootout, and ghosts haunt the historic houses. There’s also dancing, and of course, lots of candy!
Admission: $5 per person. Cowtown members and kids 4 and under get in FREE!

Visit the museum after hours for a spooktacular time! The facility’s first floor will be transformed with spooky, family-friendly displays throughout for all Halloween-lovers. The kids will enjoy multiple candy stations for a unique trick-or-treating experience. Costumes are optional but encouraged.

5k Pumpkin Run and 1k Little Pumpkin Fun Run
October 22nd at 9am

Time to lace up those sneakers and get that blood pumping with 2 race options, a 5k or a 1k for the little ones. All Pumpkin Run participants will receive an event shirt and a finisher medal. Run in costume for extra fun!

Boos and Bonfire Halloween Bash

Bring the family and enjoy this FREE Halloween party with festivities including a bonfire, door prizes, snacks, candy for the kids and more! Costumes encouraged.
Klausmeyer Farm Costume Contest & Trick-or-Treat

Bring your kids to one of the area’s best pumpkin patches for a Halloween to remember! Dress the kiddos in their best costume for a chance to walk across their “stage” during any of the pig race times and show everyone their awesome attire. On top of all of the standard pumpkin patch activities, the trick-or-treating will take place in multiple festive stations throughout the farm.

Don’t miss out on Mall-O-Ween immediately after the Fall Fest from 4-6pm! Children can sport their best Halloween costume to haunt Towne East Square in search of candy.

Located near the Delano District in Wichita Ks, the parking lot of St. Joseph Catholic Church is transformed into a festive trunk-or-treat for local children’s delight.

Halloween Lights and Haunted Displays in Wichita
The best Halloween displays are famously in the College Hill district in Wichita. Surprise the kids, grab some hot chocolate, and take a stroll through the street of College Hill for a chance to see these impressive displays up-close!
