The Kansas Honor Flight gives veterans the recognition they deserve for all they’ve given to our country. The program flies veterans – at no cost to them – to D.C. so they can SEE the war memorials that have been put up in their honor. When the veterans return home and land at the Eisenhower National Airport, the public is invited to show up and cheer for them. The next welcome home is scheduled for Friday, May 19, 2017 at 10:30 a.m.
The ‘Heroes Welcome Home’ is where we get the opportunity to really show our thanks and gratitude to our local Kansas Veterans that have sacrificed so much for our great Nation. All returning Veterans deserve such a welcome home, especially those that NEVER received one when they needed it the most.
It is absolutely amazing to see these men and women’s faces light up when they see the crowd, hear the clapping and cheering, and realize it’s all for them.
Please make the time to join us, and see for yourselves why we are so passionate about our Mission. For more information, you may visit the website at http://www.kansashonorflight.org/Flight-Returning.htm
You are encouraged to make a sign saying “THANK YOU” or “WELCOME HOME.”
The Honor Flight folks have even worked out a free parking option. Find all the details at the Facebook event page.
