Visit the Wichita Sedgwick County Historical Museum for spring break! They’ll have special programs for kids and families.
Participation in the spring break programs at Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum is FREE but space is very limited so be sure to register as soon as possible by emailing [email protected]!
Kids in grades 1 and up are invited (parents too) to these special spring break activities at the Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum. The spring break events are appropriate for 1st graders and up.
Each event below is from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and participation is FREE; however, space will be limited so register soon! You can go to one or to all three of these.
- Tuesday, March 15, you can “Cowboy Up!” and join the museum educators for some fun. Kids will learn about the lives of early settlers and cowboys during a special tour of the museum, then they’ll make a buffalo silhouette in a Kansas sunset and play Cowboy Blackjack. There’s a limit of 10 participants, so you’ll want to register immediately for this one.
- Wednesday, March 16 “STEAM-Playing in the Past!” with the museum. Find out what entertained children over a century ago. What technology did they use? Again, there is a limit of 10 participants.
- Thursday, March 17 “Victorian Cottage” Enjoy a special tour of this re-created home. Craft a calling card. Have fun playing “Old Maid,” “Pick-up-Sticks,” and marbles. There is a limit of 8 participants for this event, so register soon!
- Friday, March 18 “Young Historians” Explore what the Museum has to offer for young historians. Participants will go behind-the-scenes and learn about museum careers. Recommended for 6th-12th grades. Limit of 10 participants.
