The Great Plains Nature Center will be hosting a solar eclipse viewing and picnic on August 21, 2017.
“Lunch with Luna” will be fun, family-friendly, and informative. They’ll have solar viewing glasses available to use and share, and if you bring a cereal/cracker box from home, the staff will help you construct your own safe eclipse viewer to use and take home.
Spread out a picnic blanket on the large open grassy area to enjoy the lunch you packed. For a donation, Sun Chips and Moon Pies (:)) will be available, along with lemonade and tea. Kona Ice will also be there selling sno-cones.
Admission to this solar viewing event is free! Lunch with Luna will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017. For more information and to keep up with any weather-related or other schedule changes, visit the Facebook event page.
