Lake Afton Public Observatory will be giving photographers an opportunity to aim their cameras through the large 16″ observatory telescope Saturday night to take pictures of Saturn. You can use your DSLR or cell phone camera. Staff will be on hand to offer advice and assistance for the photography as well as other questions. (Ask them about the coming eclipse!)
In the event of bad weather, this event may be rescheduled. Be sure to follow the observatory on Facebook for the latest updates.
Outside the observatory, folks are planning to gather to watch the Perseid meteor shower that will be going on that night.
Admission to the Lake Afton Public Observatory is $8 for adults, $4 for youth ages 5-13, and $7 for seniors. Kids four years old and younger get in free. Or you can get family admission for $20.
