Wichita Parks and Recreation, Wichita Festivals, Bike/Walk Wichita and others will launch a brand new FREE event in Wichita.
Open Streets ICT will bring Wichitans of all ages and fitness levels together for an active, fun, community-building afternoon on Wichita’s iconic Douglas Avenue.
Modeled after successful open street events around the country, Open Streets ICT closes four miles of Douglas Avenue from the College Hill neighborhood to the historic Delano District. Traffic will be colosed off and the street opened to young and old alike to enjoy biking, walking, running, dancing, yoga, entertainment, food, art, music, and more.
Open Streets ICT is an event scheduled for September 24, 2017 to be a community-building and fun afternoon. They’ll close four miles of Douglas Ave. to traffic for Wichitans to enjoy biking, walking, running, dancing, yoga, entertainment, food, art, music, and more. The four-mile stretch will be from College Hill to the Historic Delano District.
Open Streets ICT is designed to elevate the quality of life and health of the Greater Wichita community. The goal of Open Streets ICT is to foster an appreciation among community members, business, and key decision makers for streets to become multi-functional and not just for motor vehicles.
