Is there any better way to be “green” for St. Patrick’s Day weekend than sprucing up the downtown river area?
Wichita Clean Streams will be helping to maintain the famous Wichita Troll’s backyard on Saturday, March 16 by planting wildflower seeds, working in the Grotto Rain Garden, and picking up trash along the river.
Volunteers are welcome to join them. You’ll want to wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty, and bring your garden tools and gloves. They’ll provide trash bags and paper gloves for picking up trash.
They’ll also have coffee and breakfast snacks for volunteers.
The fun will begin at 9 a.m. and should wrap up about 11 a.m., so you’ll still have time to get to the parade!
According to their Facebook event page, you can park at Exploration Place. The troll lives across the river from there, so you’ll need to cross the pedestrian bridge and walk down the sidewalk on the other side.
