Kenny Wayne Shepherd is an amazing guitar player whose career got an early start. He opened for the Eagles on the Hell Freezes Over tour when he was just 17 years old, and recorded “Texas Flood” with Willie Nelson when he was only 23!
“Twenty years into his recording career Kenny Wayne Shepherd continues to create genre-defining blues-infused rock n’ roll. Shepherd has built an enviable resume as an accomplished recording artist, a riveting live performer and one of the most talented and distinctive guitarists of his generation.
Shepherd has sold millions of albums worldwide, received five GRAMMY® nominations, two Billboard Music Awards, as well as a pair of Orville H. Gibson awards, the Blues Foundation’s Keeping The Blues Alive award and two Blues Music awards. He’s had seven #1 blues albums and a string of #1 mainstream rock singles.” ~ KennyWayneShepherd.net
I’ve been listening to his music all day. Here’s a great one:
Young blues guitarist Quinn Sullivan is opening for the Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band at the concert. The Washington Post said the 20-year old Sullivan could turn out to be the Clapton of his generation. Um, wow.
