A tradition for 90 years and counting in Wichita, the St. Mary’s Mediterranean Festival celebrates the culture, heritage, and food that the church’s founders brought with them when they came to the United States.
The St. Mary Orthodox Christian Church Mediterranean Festival will be held May 14, 2022.
Admission is FREE and this is a very family-friendly event. In 2022, the Mediterranean Festival in Wichita will focus only on the food and marketplace.
Of course, one of the most beloved things about Wichita’s Mediterranean Festival is the food.
All of it is handmade from scratch. You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy delicious Mediterranean food items, featuring dishes from Lebanon, Syria, and Greece.
This year, this one-day event will be drive-through or carryout only. They’ll offer two plated meal options and one dessert sampler for purchase.
Food may be pre-ordered for pick up prior to the event. Check out the website for information on ordering. www.stmarywichita.org/festival.html.
A Mediterranean Marketplace will also be set up where you can find a variety of baked goods from Mediterranean countries. Many items for sale at the marketplace can’t be found anywhere else in Wichita.
The St. Mary’s Mediterranean Festival has FREE admission for everyone. You’ll just want to budget for food and shopping. Food prices range from $1 to $6. According to the website, they accept cash, check, and credit cards.
A portion of the proceeds from the festival each year go to support a local charity. This year, ten percent of the net proceeds will go to support Wichita’s Littlest Heroes, which helps families in Kansas with uninsured expenses for their medically fragile children.
