Choreographer and Artistic Director Regina Klenjoski explores the urgent and nationally relevant topic of immigration through a very personal lens. “Far From Home,” is a personal yet universal journey through the themes of migration. Hope, integration, family, loss, and faith are explored through dance, film, music, and poetry. The research for this work began with the story of Fidan and Petkana Klenjoski, a couple from a small village in Macedonia, and their journey to America almost 50 years ago. Was the difficulty and promise of leaving one home and making peace with another worth it? 14 artists come together through their disciplines to tell the story of “Far From Home.” Come and experience this evening of powerfully emotive dance theatre that features film by local artist Jake Simms, 5 professional dancers, choreography by Regina Klenjoski and an original score by Macedonian composer Toni Kitanovski.
