The 1st Annual “Our Heritage” Wichita Hispanic Festival is scheduled for Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Wichita’s NOMAR International Market.
Here’s the information we found on Facebook about the festival:
“SAVE THE DATE! Dont miss this unique opportunity to experience and celebrate Hispanic / Latino Heritage.
The day will kick off with a little “Me Time” from 10am-12pm for ladies only.
Afterwards the fun begins for everyone. There will be a variety of authentic Hispanic/Latino food vendors, merchandise vendors, fun activities, educational/cultural exhibitions and presentations, Salsa dance exhibition and crowd lesson, a comedian, a fashion show, Lowrider Car Show and much more.
There will be a special segment to celebrate the life and times of Hispanic Heritage here in Wichita. We will reflect on our beloved “Northend” and how it became home to the flood of Mexicans many years ago. We will mention in memory some of the children from that era who later grew to rise above conflict during trying times to pave the way towards growth, and opportunity that has led to successful contributions for Hispanic/Latinos and the City of Wichita today.
This will be a day filled with pride, culture, and tradition
Its our heritage! And we would love to share it with you.”
Entertainment planned includes a comedian, singers and musicians, dancers, a poetry slam, and more.
