Christian Youth Theater of Wichita will perform Peter Pan at the Northeast Magnet High School April 10-12, 2014. This will be a show that both adults and children will enjoy.
Performers will fly, dance, sing, and stomp through the classic tale. The show includes a cast of 95 kids who range in age from 8 to 18, and a backstage crew of teenagers and adults who help make it all happen. The “flying” will be done with the help of a rig developed by a company that also provides equipment to Nickelodeon, Six Flags, and the Broadway musical Wicked.
You’ll save $2 on admission by purchasing tickets in advance through the CYT website. Adult tickets are $13 ($11 in advance), while seniors and students will pay $11 ($9 in advance). Each evening, the show will begin at 7 p.m., and there is also a Saturday matinee at 2 p.m.
Peter Pan, like its namesake, is a tale which never ages. Fly from the nursery to Neverland with Peter, John, Michael, and Wendy. Peter leads them on the adventure of a lifetime as they learn how to fly with the help of pixie dust, encounter fairies, lost boys, Indians, pirates, and of course, the evil Captain Hook. If you’ve ever dreamed of staying a child forever, living in a make-believe land of adventure, and soaring through the air, then just think happy thoughts and up you’ll go!
