Valentine’s Day Deals

KRISPY KREME VALENTINE DOUGHNUTSAs the holiday of the heart approaches, the freebies and deals start rolling in. Below I’ve rounded up a few of the discounts you might want to take advantage of on Valentine’s Day weekend.

Now through February 14, when you buy a dozen doughnuts at Krispy Kreme, you’ll get twelve Valentine’s Day cards. Each card is good for one free doughnut at Krispy Kreme.

Get a free Valentine’s Day DVD rental from Redbox. At the Redbox Facebook page, the Valentine’s Day tab reveals a promo code you can use to get a free movie rental at Redbox. Thanks to Suddenly Frugal for bringing this to my attention.

Save on flowers with a Groupon for FTD florist. You’ll pay only $10 for $20 worth of flowers and gifts at FTD.com. You also might be able to score a good deal on fresh flowers at Aldi’s, according to MoneySavingMom. I was just in Aldi’s this week and saw some gorgeous potted flowers, too.

Woo your sweetheart with romantic music. Amazon has the MP3 album Frank Sinatra: Songs From The Heart on sale for only $5 this month.

Denny’s ‘Romance is in the Air’ promotion Send your Valentine an e-card and Denny’s will send both of you a coupon for a free Skillet Cookie a la Mode (What’s a skillet cookie?) Thanks to Julie from KC on the Cheap for this tip.

Pick up a sweet deal with your sweetheart when you use this coupon for a free cookie on Valentine’s Day at Quiznos. No purchase is required. Thanks to Cities on the Cheap for the lead on this one.

Not necessarily related to Valentine’s Day, but definitely related to the heart: Walgreens is offering free blood pressure check every day in February this year, and they’ll donate $1 to the American Heart Association for each one they do.

The Wichita Eagle’s Food and Entertainment writer, Denise Neil, has compiled a good list of Valentine’s Day specials at Wichita restaurants. You’ll want to make your reservations in advance, according to Neil.

Just don’t be afraid to buck the trend. If dining out is out of the budget, just remember that there’s nothing more romantic than paying off your mortgage. Enjoy a home-cooked meal with your sweetheart with a beautiful bouquet of fresh or potted flowers and a little Frank Sinatra, and gaze adoringly into each other’s eyes. It could be the most memorable “Happy Hearts Day” of them all!

Wichita on the Cheap relies on commissions from affiliate links like a couple of the ones in this post to bring you great deals each day. Thank you!

Never miss a deal:
