Wichita Garage Sales – Citywide and Neighborhood (5/19)
Here’s the spot to find citywide and neighborhood garage sales in the Wichita area, and to let others know about yours. The Thursday Wichita Eagle is also a good resource if you want to see lots of individual garage sale listings.
Citywide Garage Sale list so far:
- Towanda Citywide Garage Sale Friday, May 18 and Saturday, May 19 beginning at 7 a.m. On Friday morning, stop downtown to buy cinnamon rolls from the Methodist church and at lunch time pick up a Monterrey. Saturday morning, there will be a pancake feed beginning at 7 a.m. You won’t need a map — just let the garage sale signs be your guide.
- Argonia Citywide Garage Sale Saturday, May 19, 2012 The sale coincides with Argonia Days so not only will you find good garage sale bargains, you’ll find plenty of small-town family fun.
Neighborhood sales, Estate Sales, Flea Markets, Church Rummage Sales, etc.
- Andover Church of Christ Clothing Giveaway A giveaway will be held this Saturday, May 19, 2012 at the Andover Church of Christ from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. It’s for everyone. Make plans to stop on your way to or from Towanda. Donations for the giveaway are also accepted. (See the link for details.)

Flea Market at the Kansas Coliseum Pavilions
The Mid America Flea Market at the Kansas Coliseum Pavilions is the largest indoor flea market in Kansas with over 700 vendors.
The flea market comes to the Coliseum about every month, and is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is $1.00 per person. Children 12 and under get in FREE.

Wichita won’t be on the list, but I believe you can select “National.” The national deals are what I watch at Eversave, and I’ve seen some good ones. For example, today one of the deals is a $5 for a two-year subscription to Parenting or Parenting School Years . That’s a very good deal on that magazine. You’ll also find the usual assortment of photo books, travel deals, and gift sets. As with all daily deals, I recommend doing a little shopping around when you see a deal that interests you and definitely read the fine print to know what you’re getting, but overall I like what I see from Eversave, and the extra credit almost always makes for a good deal.

Groupon for Home Depot Home Decorators Furnishings
Oh my… I really wouldn’t mind one of everything in this collection of stuff from Home Decorators (an offshoot of Home Depot). The first thing I thought was that I could find almost every one of those pieces at garage sales and thrift stores and then paint, refinish, and re-upholster it all to new condition. My second thought is, oh yeah – I don’t know how to reupholster and I barely have time to shop for groceries, much less projects.

Society of Decorative Painters Expo: Free Admission
If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at painting, or if you’re already an artist, you’ll probably want to stop by the Society of Decorative Painters Expo in Wichita May 17-19, 2012. Admission is FREE.
You’ll be able to watch demos, purchase supplies at a discount, and discover your inner artist with make-it/take-it projects. The expo will be held at the Century II Convention Center Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
