Half-price shakes at SonicThe calories are definitely a splurge, but the price isn’t as long as you get your Sonic shakes after 8 p.m. Half-price shakes at Sonic are back.

After 8 p.m. each night, you can drive in to Sonic to get any of its 25 hand-mixed shakes for 50% off. This makes it a great deal! Last year, the half-price shakes were offered throughout the summer, so keep it in mind when you need a late-night treat after playing in the sun.

Thanks to sister site, Living on the Cheap, for this tip.

The Pizza Hut Great Big Deal - large 2-topping pizza $7.99 Monday through Thursday, carryout onlyPizza Hut has rolled out a new offer that’s available for a limited time. When you order carryout (as opposed to delivery) Monday through Thursday, you can get a large 2-topping Pizza Hut pizza for just $7.99. It’s called Pizza Hut’s Great Big Deal, and you can upgrade to a specialty pizza for just $2 more.

Wichita has a lot of great pizza places, but of course we do have a special connection to Pizza Hut. The original Pizza Hut location can still be seen at the WSU campus. What is now a huge international chain started in this 1077 square-foot building by two college students, brothers Frank and Dan Carney, in Wichita, Kansas.

Thanks to Indianapolis on the Cheap for mentioning this big deal.

(Or, if it’s Monday, you could get Papa John’s Customer Appreciation special instead. That’s a large 1-topping Papa Johns pizza for $6.99, carryout only.)

KFC Chicken pot pie $3.99 for a limited timeIt probably isn’t as good as your own homemade chicken pot pie, but it looks like it might make for a good lunch when you don’t have any leftovers to take to work with you. For a limited time at participating locations, KFC is offering a single-serving size of its new Chicken Pot Pie for $3.99.

KFC describes it as “tender pieces of the world’s best chicken, diced potatoes, green peas and carrots in a savory home-style sauce” and “covered with a flaky, buttery crust and freshly baked to golden perfection.”

No coupon is necessary. I’m not sure when the promo will end.

Golden Corral $2.99 Kids BuffetGolden Corral has just passed “the Family Budget Act,” a new promotion to plug its lower weeknight prices for kids. For a limited time, kids ages 4-12 can eat at the burgeoning buffet for only $2.99 after 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Kids 3 and under eat free.

How long is “a limited time?” I have no idea, but I hope they keep it going for a while. Now that the Golden Corral is on the Wichita Kids Eat Free (and Cheap!) list, we’ll be more likely to visit. There’s nothing like paying for an all-you-can eat buffet and watching your kid pick at one chicken strip and a green bean.*

Thanks to Cynthia for the tip!

*Of course, they try to make up for it at the dessert buffet.
