What a beautiful rain we’ve been getting! It won’t stop us from the free and inexpensive events and activities in Wichita this weekend. If anything, the cooler temperatures will only make the outdoor events even more enjoyable. (Just make sure your camera stays dry.)
The big news this weekend, of course, is the 2012 Blacktop Nationals Car Show. Pick up your writstband and event booklet (with coupons and other goodies) at Quik Trips, Walgreens, or downtown at the show itself for $5. The wristband is only necessary to get in to certain events; a wristband isn’t expected or required for walking around downtown enjoying the show. (Yes, I’m sure; I asked event organizers this question specifically. But you can always buy one if it makes you feel better.)
Equally newsworthy is the incredible deal we’ll get on zoo admission this weekend. $1 admission to the Sedgwick County Zoo is a great deal, and that’s how much it will be on Saturday, August 25, 2012.
See what else is happening “on the cheap” in Wichita this weekend:
- May 2013
- Free Admission to the Wichita Art Museum (10:00 AM)
- Low-Cost Activities for Girls in Grades K-5: What can a girl do? (10:00 AM)
