The 2012 Blacktop Nationals is back in Wichita starting Friday, August 24, 2012. This will be the third year for the huge car show and community event in downtown Wichita.
The muscle cars, hot rods, and motorcycles will be the main draw, but almost anyone can find something to enjoy, from live entertainment, retail and food vendors, beer gardens, and even helicopter rides. It’s free to walk around downtown and enjoy the show and the buzz of activity. Some of the events will require an inexpensive wristband.
The $5 wristband with event booklet are available to purchase at area Quik Trips and Walgreens, and will be available downtown during the show as well. The event booklet contains coupons for restaurants, entry forms for the 1965 Mustang giveaway, the Harley Davidson motorcycle giveaway, and the $100 gas gift card giveaway. The wristband gets you into the Million-Dollar Car Display and the Pepsi NASCAR Simulator!
Blacktop Nationals events will be held Friday, 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in downtown Wichita, near Century II Convention Center For more information and to see the complete schedule of events, visit the Blacktop Nationals website.
