Sedgwick County is offering two back-to-school vaccination clinics for returning students. The first immunization clinic is this Saturday, July 28, 2012 on the east side of Wichita. The second clinic is August 11, 2012 in West Wichita. Both clinics are open from 9 a.m. to noon.

Vaccinations are free to uninsured residents of Sedgwick County under 18 years of age. Proof of income is required for free immunizations. Bring your child’s shot record to the clinic with you.

Here is the information sent out by the Sedgwick County Health Department:

Required vaccinations for the 2012-2013 school year are:

  • DTAP 5 doses
  • Polio 4 doses
  • MMR 2 doses
  • Hepatitis B 3 doses
  • Varicella 2 doses for grades K-3 and 7-8
  • 1 dose for grades 4-6 and 9-12
  • HIB 3 doses for children younger than age 5
  • Pneumococcal 4 doses for children younger than age 5
  • Hepatitis A 2 doses for children younger than age 5
  • Tdap 1 dose for grades 7-10

*Parents may be eligible to receive a FREE Tdap vaccine while supplies last.

Vaccinations are free to uninsured children age 18 and younger, and proof of income is required. Most insurance is accepted, including Medicare and Medicaid. Please bring your child’s shot record to the clinic.
