Parking lot D in downtown Wichita is already being prepared with tents and award-winning “ribbers” are showing up for the Wichita Ribfest this weekend.
The Wichita Ribfest will feature six different award-winning BBQ masters from around the country and live concerts from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, May 17 -19, 2012.
Regular admission for the event is $4 for adults and free for children 12 and under, but you can get in free with a River Festival button, which are already on sale at Quik Trip and Dillons. Or opt for 1/2 price admission Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (The concerts are free with admission, but the ribs will cost something.)
There will also be a children’s play area, VIP tent, and beer garden. The Mel Hambleton ‘American Idle’ competition is on Thursday.
The best place to get more information is probably the Wichita Ribfest Facebook page.
